Rules & scoring

Everything that earns (or loses) you points in SPM88, the fantasy manager for the 2026 World Cup — 48 teams, groups A–L, June–July 2026.

🧠 Classic mode — strategy

In Classic, you manage your national team — and your nation comes first. The home-country rule works like this:

  • Your country is playing in the World Cup: its team is automatically yours — you can't swap it out. You then pick one more team from the remaining field (it must be different from your home team). Both teams score for you, and your Classic total is the sum of the two.
  • Your country isn't playing: you pick one team — any of the 48 — and only that team scores for you.

Every finished match your team plays earns points from the table below. Note the twists: fouls committed are positive, while clean sheets are negative. Read it carefully before you pick.

🟨🟥 Turbo mode — chaos

Turbo is its own game with its own leaderboard. You pick one team — any of the 48, including your home country if you like. Only cards count: wins, goals, and saves are worth nothing here.

66 points per yellow card. 131 per red. The dirtiest team wins. And the more points your turbo team scores, the higher its worth — so a squad with a short fuse is an asset, not a liability.

🔒 Pick locking

You can change your Classic and Turbo picks freely until picks lock. Picks lock at admin-announced deadlines — typically around key stages of the tournament. While picks are locked, no changes are possible for anyone; when they reopen, you're free to adjust again. Your home team (when your country is playing) is fixed by the home-country rule and never changes.

⏱️ Joining mid-tournament

The World Cup is already underway, and that's fine — matches are scored from when they're entered, so everyone climbs from the same live table. Late joiners can still win: a strong run in the knockouts is worth more than a slow start in the groups. Join anytime, climb from today.

⚖️ Fair play

All scoring data — results, goals, cards, saves, shots, tackles, and fouls — is entered by SPM88 officials from public match data. Once a match is marked finished, its points flow straight into the leaderboards. If a correction is needed, officials update the match stats and every affected total recalculates automatically.
